Facts Why You Need a Beach Sun Tent Shelter

Dermatologist say people who have been sun burned more than five times in their lifetime have a double chance to develop melanoma. Increasing sun exposure puts each and everyone of us at risk. Being for hours at the beach without proper protection is not smart, not sitting under constant UV shelter is totally dangerous.

According to the Fitzpatrick skin color scale, there are six skin color complexions. Types 1-3 are the white pale colors which burn easily in the sun and get red instead of getting brown, they lack the melanin which protects the skin from UV). Most of the Caucasian people who go to the beach are types 1-3. They must take adequate measures to be protected from UV.  UV is similar to visible light, it can reflect! This means the body is exposed to 25% more UV at the beach (or in snow). So the body does not get UV only from the sun, but is projected from UV rays reflecting from the yellow sand, and mirroring back from the sea.

UV sun screening was found by FDA not effective as people may think. Most people believe that applying a sun block cream will keep them safe from UV. Last year a thorough research publication by FDA busted this scam. Apparently most SPF (sun protection factor) creams are not effective blocking UVA which are the long UV rays that penetrate deeper into our skin.
